　　Profile

　　Established in 1987, CSSA-Sheffield is a non-political, non-religious and non-profit organization, which organizes, sponsors, and supports various social and cultural activities among Chinese students and scholars studying or working in Sheffield. The association also maintains close connections with the intellectual community in China and other CSSA members across the UK.

　　Aim

　　CSSA-Sheffield aims to represent the views and interests of its members; to enhance the well-being of its members and their families; to provide assistance to its members in their academic studies and daily lives; to promote understanding of the Chinese culture, and to maintain friendly relations with all people in Sheffield.

　　Mission

　　CSSA-Sheffield is committed to developing unique and attractive programs and activities locally, nationally and internationally. This enables Chinese students and scholars in Sheffield, and all other individuals who are interested in China and Chinese culture to experience and enjoy a richer, fuller, and more successful life in Sheffield and beyond. CSSA-Sheffield particularly devotes itself in promoting education and culture exchange between China and the UK through mutual dialogue and collaborative initiatives on a wide variety of issues. It serves as a platform to bridge the gaps between the East and the Western world, and enhance understanding and awareness among the young generation of the two countries.

　　Organization

　　CSSA-Sheffield has over 50 executive committee members who are studying PhD, Master, Pre-Master or Bachelor courses throughout The University of Sheffield, Sheffield Hallam University and Sheffield International College.

　　Also, CSSA-Sheffield contains an advisory committee established in October 2010. It has 5 members who lecture at The University of Sheffield, Sheffield Hallam University. The advisory committee has the rights to advise and supervise on general affairs, election of the president each year, the organizing of the committee members each year.

　　CSSA-Sheffield is steered by an electoral based standing committee who overlook the work of various working groups appointed by the president each year.

　　The CSSA-Sheffield Presidium is in charge of general affairs in the term of office.
