International tuition fees - 2011/12
The cost of studying abroad may seem high, but there are many benefits to studying in the UK. Degrees are often shorter than those in the US or Australia as they are more intensive and many postgraduate courses are only one year rather than two years' duration.
The following tuition fees apply to international students for the 2011/12 academic year. To help you plan ahead, these fees are fixed for the duration of your course.
Further Education (Diploma, Access, Foundation)
£9,500 per year
Higher Education (FdA, BA, Graduate Diploma)
£12,700 per year
Masters*
£12,700 per year
* A non-standard fee applies to some of our postgraduate courses.
You may wonder why there is a difference between 'international' and 'home' fees. The reason is that the UK government contributes a significant amount of money to UK universities for education, but this money is only for 'home' students. As a result, international students are required to pay the whole fee by themselves.
